 DESCRIPTION: The Communications Manager will serve as the day-to-day lead on communications and media relations activities for the interactive youth health company. The position will have a unique opportunity to work with progressive public relations and social media firms, along with company leadership, to create a buzz around the Corporation’s growing portfolio of interactive products focused on improving youth health.
Key Responsibilities:
●            Participate in the development of the company's communication strategy
●            Serve as the project lead working with the company's public relations and social media firms from concept development through execution
●            Draft, edit media relations materials (press releases, op-eds, etc.)
●            Work closely with company's product and marketing teams to distill key product value propositions for targeted audiences
●            Develop and foster relationships with journalists, bloggers and key opinion leaders
focused on youth health and wellness
●            Closely coordinate with customer base to develop partner press opportunities
●            Coordinate various communication touch points, including social media and company blog communication
●            Work with senior team members to identify, secure, and prepare for relevant press
opportunities and speaking engagements
●            Ability to review and analyze data to identify and exploit pearls of information which can be used as proof points for broader PR initiatives.
●            Generate new ideas and media opportunities to ensure brands’ success
●            Analyze the quantitative and qualitative outputs of PR programs and placements to
maximize effectiveness and ROI.
Required Skills:
●            3-7 years of public relations, corporate communications experience
●            Establish relationships with industry relevant PR contacts
●            Strong written and verbal communication skills
●            Preferential consideration given to candidates who worked within digital media
companies
●            Proven experience with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest
●            Strong drive and ownership mindset; ability to own issues and see them through
resolution
●            Strong leadership presence; effective cross-functional driver
●            Proven ability to support multiple business units and engage with senior leadership ●            Must thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment and be able to prioritize multiple
responsibilities, projects
The position is based in Nashville, TN and occasional travel is required for relevant industry events, press opportunities and media tours.
